Bands and segments

A band is one row of the river (one customer, one SKU, one of whatever you've grouped by). A segment is one month within that band. Read color for status, thickness for volume.

What the colors mean

Each segment is colored relative to the baseline picked in the toolbar (prior month, year-over-year, trailing average, etc.):

  • Red — significant drop.
  • Orange — small drop.
  • Gray — flat, or no significant change.
  • Light green — small growth.
  • Dark green — significant growth.

Future months render with a striped pending pattern in muted gray so they don't read as a drop.

Inspecting a segment

Hover any segment for a quick summary — band, month, the current height metric, and the status pill:

Right-click actions

Right-click any band for the action menu:

Band right-click menu

  • Drill down — filter the river to just this band's contents (same as clicking the Y-axis cell).
  • Create task — open the task composer with this band pre-filled as the linked entity.
  • Copy view link — copy a shareable URL that reproduces the current view (date range, grouping, drill path, filters, height metric). The label flips to "Copied" briefly to confirm.

Lifecycle cards

Lifecycle cards aren't part of the band itself — they live in the transaction flow diagram, which opens when you drill from a band into a specific transaction. See Transactions for that workflow.
