Deductions

Deductions are vendor credits in flight — money owed back from a vendor, organized by where each one is in its filing lifecycle.

Browsing the lifecycle tabs

Open the Deductions panel from the right sidebar:

Deductions lifecycle tabs

Five tabs across the top:

  • Overview — every deduction, regardless of state.
  • At Risk — pending deductions where the filing deadline is within 7 days, or the forfeit deadline is within 14. Always sorted by soonest deadline, regardless of the Sort dropdown.
  • Pending — claimed but not yet filed.
  • Filed — filed with the vendor, awaiting receipt.
  • Received — money's back. Receipts show in green next to a checkmark.

There is no Forfeited tab — forfeited deductions surface only under Overview.

Each card has the credit memo ID, status pill (PENDING, FILED, RECEIVED), amount, units, purchase date, and either the filing date or the received-vs-claimed reconciliation.

Reading a deduction

Click any card for the detail view. Detail is read-only — there is no UI to change status, file the deduction, or add notes.

The body shows the credit memo, the vendor's manufacturer, the customer it ties back to, and the filing/forfeit timeline. The footer's View Transaction button jumps to the originating PO's flow diagram (when the deduction has a linked PO).

Filing deadline and forfeit countdown

Two key dates drive everything in the lifecycle:

  • Filing deadline — invoice date + 60 days. Past this, the deduction is at risk of being denied.
  • Forfeit date — invoice date + 90 days. Past this, the credit is gone.

Both are computed at render time from the invoice date — they don't tick in real time. Reload to refresh the countdown.
