River Assistant
The River Assistant is the chat panel for asking natural-language questions about whatever's in your river — top customers, week-over-week shifts, why a band moved. Open it from the chat icon in the right sidebar.
Asking the assistant
Open the panel for the chat surface plus your past conversations:

The empty state explains the scope — "Ask questions about your data, explore trends, and get insights from your River dashboard." The composer at the bottom is the only input; type and hit return.
Past conversations live in the left rail of the panel. Each entry shows the title (auto-generated from the first message). Conversations group by recency — Today, then Yesterday / Last 7 / Last 30 / Older.
History
- Search chats at the top of the rail filters by title.
- + New Chat opens a blank thread, but the conversation only persists once you send the first message — reload before that and the empty thread is gone.
- Hover any past conversation for the delete affordance.
Sharing (read-only)
Each conversation has a Share button that mints a public link — copy it to clipboard and send. Recipients hit a read-only viewer that shows the chat threaded inside the river page; they can scroll the conversation and the river but cannot reply, ask follow-ups, or make edits.
There is no UI to revoke a shared link once minted.
